Get ready, K-drama fans, because the charming and ever-versatile Kim Bum is making a triumphant return to the world of romantic comedies with his upcoming drama, “Sold Out Again Today”! Who’s excited? MEEEEE!!!

While Kim Bum graced our screens with a delightful short cameo in “Wedding Impossible” recently, it was a mere tease compared to the full-blown rom-com experience we’ve been craving. Our beloved actor, known for his compelling performances in everything from fantasy epics like “Tale of the Nine-Tailed” to intense legal dramas like “Law School,” has showcased his incredible range in the past almost-two decades.
However, many fans were surprised and a little heartbroken when he recently admitted in a video that he felt he “couldn’t act well” in romantic comedies. Well, if “Sold Out Again Today” is anything to go by, he’s ready to prove himself wonderfully wrong!

And what a comeback it promises to be! “Sold Out Again Today” is a healing romance drama that brings together an unlikely pair. The plot revolves around Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), a man with not one, not two, but three jobs. He’s a farmer, a CEO of a natural cosmetics company, and a cosmetics development researcher. Talk about a busy bee!
He finds himself repeatedly crossing paths with Dam Ye-jin (portrayed by Chae Won-bin), a top home shopping host who battles chronic insomnia. Their contrasting lives and schedules lead to unexpected encounters and a heartwarming, chaotic romance.
So, where does Kim Bum fit into this charming chaos? He steps into the role of Eric Seo, an executive director at a global French skincare brand. Eric is described as a character who maintains a relaxed and confident demeanor but is incredibly proactive and bold when it comes to both his work and his love life. This sounds like the perfect blend of suave charm and delightful assertiveness that Kim Bum can effortlessly embody, and I can’t wait to see the variety of chemistry he’ll bring to the screen with his co-stars.
While some fans might be a tad disappointed that Kim Bum is taking on the role of the second lead role, I’m honestly just overjoyed to see him in a romantic comedy at all! It feels like ages since we’ve had him consistently on the small screen, so whether he’s the main lead or stealing scenes as a charming executive, his presence in a drama, let alone a rom-com, is a gift.
My excitement for “Sold Out Again Today” is amplified by the fact that I last saw Kim Bum on-stage, captivating audiences in the musical “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.” Witnessing his dedication and passion for live performance only makes me more eager to see him bring that energy back to the small screen in a genre that will surely highlight his charisma and comedic timing.
Are you ready to fall in love with Kim Bum all over again? I know I am.
