In a Facebook post on May 13, the newly proclaimed Quezon City mayor expressed that her victory is not just hers but a shared success for everyone in the city.
“Opisyal nang idineklara si Mayor Joy Belmonte bilang alkalde muli ng lungsod Quezon matapos makakuha ng lagpas 1 milyong boto mula sa QCitizen. Ang tagumpay na ito ay tagumpay nating lahat (Mayor Joy Belmonte has been officially declared as the mayor of Quezon City once again after receiving over 1 million votes from QCitizens. This victory is a victory for all of us)!” the post read.
It added: “Tuloy-tuloy lang po ang pagsulong ng inumpisahang good governance ni Mayor Joy. Patuloy rin tayong magiging inklusibong pamahalaan upang masiguro na KASAMA LAHAT SA PAG-UNLAD (Mayor Joy’s commitment to good governance will continue moving forward. We will also remain an inclusive government to ensure that everyone is included in progress)!”
Based on the partial unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec)’s data (as of May 13, 2025, at 2:21 PM), the 55-year-old public figure garnered 1,009,204 votes. Meanwhile, her rivals Diosdado Velasco got 20,803 votes; Jonathan Cabalo, 13,567 votes; Rolando Jota, 8,405 votes; and Noli Navat, 4,168 votes.
