A month after he was involved in a car chase with police officers, actor Jake Cuenca has finally paid a visit to the innocent bystander, a Grab driver, who had been hit with a stray bullet during the incident.
On Instagram, Jake shared a photo of himself having a conversation with the driver, named Eleazar Martinito, seemingly at the driver’s home.
“Masaya ako na nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataon na madalaw si Eleazar Martinito, ang grab driver na nasaktan sa isang insidenteng hindi ko malilimutan (I am very happy that I was able to visit Eleazar Martinito, the Grab driver who got hurt from the incident I will never forget),” Jake wrote on the caption of his post.

He then expressed his thanks to the authorities who had helped Eleazar at the time and wished the driver a speedy recovery.
“Taos pusong pasasalamat sa mga pulis na tumulong sa iyo at naging tulay para makilala kita. Labis ang aking pasasalamat sa Panginoong Diyos na nasa maayos kang kalagayan kasama ang iyong pamilya. Hangad ko ang iyong patuloy na kaligtasan at nawaโy makabalik agad sa iyong trabaho,” he said.
“Nandito lang ako para saโyo Ely!”
[(“I am very grateful to the police who helped you and who served as the bridge for me to be in contact with you. I am thankful to the Lord that you are in a stable condition and you are with your family. I pray for your continued recovery and that you will be able to return to work soon. I am here for you always, Ely!”)]

Jake’s girlfriend, Kylie Verzosa, commented on the post to express support to the actor. “Proud of you boo,” she said.
Jake had allegedly hit a police vehicle in Mandaluyong City last October 9 and had reportedly fled the scene, prompting a car chase where the police attempted to stop Jake’s vehicle by shooting its tires. Authorities did not find any illegal substances in the car. Jake later clarified to reporters that he was not arrested and explained that he kept driving away because he did not know that the ones chasing him were actually the police as they were wearing civilian clothing.
