Way to go, Iza!

Iza Calzado

The actress just won the Yakushi Pearl Award, the equivalent of a “Best Performer” award, at the 2017 Osaka Film Festival on Saturday!

Iza nabbed the award for her role in the psychological thriller Bliss, directed by Jerrold Tarog, where she plays Jane Ciego, an actress-turned-producer who begins to hear strange sounds and experiences terrifying nightmares.

Actor Piolo Pascual shared Iza’s acceptance speech at the fest on his Instagram account:

Our very own @missizacalzado accepting her award as best actress for the movie Bliss by Jerrold tarog at the recently concluded Osaka Asian film fest 2017 ???????? congrats B! You made us proud:)

Aside from “Bliss”, two other Filipino films competed at the festival: Borgy Torre’s “Tisay,” which premiered last year at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival; “Kita Kita,”by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, which pulled out of the Metro Manila Film Festival at the last minute last year.
