Will ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ Be Postponed Because of COVID-19?

The second part of the ‘Haunting of Hill House’ series finished filming last February and fans of the first series cannot wait for it. While the first series was loosely based on the 1959 gothic novel by Shirley Jackson, however, the second series will be based on ‘The Turn of the Screw’ by Henry James. Despite the new story, though, you can still look forward to see cast members of the first series in the second installment, including Henry Thomas, Victoria Pedretti, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

With the COVID-19 pandemic upon us, some fans have been worried that the show might be delayed just like other movies and shows we have been anticipating this year. The good news is that ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ doesn’t seem to be affected by the pandemic. At the very least, nothing has changed in terms of its original release. One fan simply had to know and tweeted Mike Flanagan, the show’s creator, directly.

He responded on Twitter, saying, “Going great. Still on schedule, we wrapped before the shutdown and post production has carrying on from home. The show is shaping up wonderfully, I’m thrilled with it. At the moment no reason to think it’ll be pushed.”

It’s confirmed, then. ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’ will still be released in 2020, though there is no specific launch date yet. We’ll just have to wait for Netflix to release a trailer and go from there. Either way, we can’t wait!
