Julia Barretto shared her thoughts on rumors that her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Garcia, may be romantically involved with someone new.
While guesting in the noontime show “Tropang LOL” as a contestant of “Maritest” on Thursday, September 8, Julia was asked the following question: “Sinong sikat na aktor ang nali-link ngayon sa YouTube content creator na si Bella Racelis—dahil madalas i-like ni aktor ang mga posts ni girl? (Which famous actor is being linked right now with YouTube content creator Bella Racelis because the actor frequently likes the girl’s social media posts?)”

Among the choices presented to Julia were Diego Loyzaga, Alden Richards, Donny Pangilinan, and Joshua. The young actress admitted that she wasn’t certain of the answer, seemingly not having caught wind of the trending news at all. She did eventually choose Joshua as her answer after getting a hint from the audience.
At this point, host Matteo Guidicelli teased Julia over being “sensitive” to Joshua’s name which Julia denied.
“Hindi ako sensitive (I’m not sensitive),” she asserted. “Kasi siyempre ‘pag past, dapat i-let go mo ‘yan with grace and with gratefulness. So kapag binabalikan mo ‘yan, dapat walang bitterness. (Because of course, if it’s in the past, you must let it go with grace and gratefulness. So when you look back on it, it should be without bitterness.)”
“Dapat magkakaibigan lang. Kung saan siya masaya, doon tayo masaya (You should remain friends. Wherever they’re happy, we should be happy for them),” she added.
Julia’s answer was eventually revealed to be correct and she was asked about her thoughts regarding Joshua’s rumored new girlfriend as photos of the couple were flashed onscreen.
“Oh that’s nice, that’s nice. Good for the both of them,” she expressed. “That’s good. Masaya tayo para sa kanila. (We’re happy for them.) Approved! Kung saan ang happiness, doon tayo. (Wherever there’s happiness, we should let it be.)”
Joshua recently has been making headlines when fans began to speculate that he is in a relationship with Bella after posting photos of her on his photography Instagram account. Fans also noticed that the two frequently interacted with one another in the comments section of the vlogger’s posts. Some also alleged that they’ve seen the two hang out together in public.
The two have yet to confirm nor deny the rumors.
Joshua’s last relationship was with his then-onscreen partner Julia. Since their breakup in 2019, he has been linked with many celebrities. Meanwhile, Julia is currently dating her “Between Maybes” costar Gerald Anderson.
