Pride Month is traditionally observed in June to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community around the world. Its history is rooted in theย Stonewall Riots, a series of demonstrations held by members of the community to protest a police raid in New York. On June 28, 1969, a raid at the Stonewall Inn gay bar turned violent. This led to an important movement in the queer liberation movement.
