Happy Animals Club: 9 Year Old Boy Creates Animal Shelter Project to Help Stray Dogs and Cats in the Philippines
A 9-year-old boy’s love for animals has inspired him to create an animal shelter in the southern Philippines!
The Happy Animals Club is a non-profit no-kill animal shelter project in the southern Philippines, started by a 9-year-old boy with assistance from international donors and volunteer help.
On his website, https://www.happyanimalsclub.org, it states that Ken, the nine-year-old boy, has always wanted to help stray dogs and cats on his street. Though his father thought that it would take too much money and time to help all the animals.
Despite that, Ken still wanted to try. The young boy started out with just some posters he made on his own. After that, things just sort of fell into place.
Big things come from small beginnings
Soon after, some photos of Ken helping and feeding dogs on the street went viral on the internet, and not long after, donations started coming in.
“Some very kind people who saw these pictures donated money to help me care for the dogs. We got enough money to get the dogs I was feeding off the street, feed them high quality canned food, and provide them with veterinary care. They gained a LOT of weight, their open wounds healed, and their fur grew back. They also learned not to be scared of humans.”
