Students across Metro Manila and the Philippines are invited to join Campfire Kyusi, a game jam for and by coders organized by the US-based non-profit organization Hack Club. Known for hosting hackathons worldwide such as Daydream, Scrapyard, and Counterspell, Hack Club is bringing Campfire to more than 200 cities globally, including Quezon City.

The event will take place on March 7, 2026 at The Globe Tower in BGC, where students can participate in a full day of coding, collaboration, and creativity. Attendees can enjoy free food, workshops, and games throughout the event, although participants are required to bring their own laptops.
Campfire Kyusi aims to give students interested in computer science and game development the opportunity to develop new skills, spark creativity, and connect with others who share the same interests.
The program will feature workshops that introduce participants to game engines such as Gamemaker Studio and Godot, helping beginners become familiar with the workflow and tools used in game development. More experienced participants will also have the chance to deepen their programming knowledge and sharpen their technical skills.
Participants will then apply what they learn by creating their own games. Students will have full creative freedom to design their game mechanics, art, and concepts, allowing them to transform their ideas into playable projects within the event timeframe.
Collaboration is also a key part of the experience. Students will work in groups, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and the chance to meet new people who share a passion for technology and gaming.
Ultimately, Campfire Kyusi is designed to be a fun and inspiring environment for aspiring developers. By combining learning, creativity, and community, the event hopes to give students a firsthand experience of how exciting game development can be.
