Gretchen Ho expressed her disappointment after a family member was allegedly denied service by a foreign exchange counter staff member.

On social media, Gretchen recounted her family member’s experience at the airport’s foreign exchange counter, where the staff refused to exchange their money.
“Lady at the counter goes—’You came from the Philippines? We cannot exchange your dollars because of the corruption and money laundering in the Philippines.’ This family member (along with a group of friends) told me they were asked to exchange their money elsewhere, but not at the airport. Family member was just trying to exchange 300 USD,” she narrated.
“Terrible. What are we going to do about this, Pilipinas?” she added.
Following her post, several social media users also came forward with similar experiences, revealing that it was not an isolated case.
“Turns out the experience isn’t isolated to our family member. Sending a report to the Philippine Ambassador to Norway,” she wrote in a separate post on X.

The broadcast journalist also responded to a netizen who shared that Oslo Gardermoen Airport allegedly does not exchange money from travelers holding Philippine passports due to “strict anti–money laundering rules.”

With this incident, the television presenter shared that she would send a report to the Philippine Ambassador to Norway.
