LISTEN: Gloc-9 and Abaddon’s “Bonethugs” Is Not Your Typical Love Song

Not all love songs are about candlelit dinners and sweet nothings. Some are about the messy parts—the tampuhan, the short fuse, the big fight followed by a soft sorry.

That’s exactly what rap icons Gloc-9 and Abaddon capture in their new track, “Bonethugs.”

Instead of the usual kilig-heavy chorus, this collab brings pure real talk. It’s the kind of song you’d want to send your jowa after an argument, when you’re too stubborn to say “sorry” but still want them to know: “tayo lang ang magkakampi.”

One of the lines that cuts deep goes:

“Bakit hindi mo muna ako pakinggan (pwede bang ikaw muna ay makinig). Hindi ‘yung agad-agad mo ‘kong pahihirapan (‘di ba tayo lang ang magkakampi).”

If that doesn’t sound like your last lovers’ quarrel, we don’t know what does.

“Bonethugs” is also part of Gloc-9’s ambitious streak of dropping a new song every month—a gift to fans who can’t get enough of his storytelling bars. This time, with Abaddon in the mix, the song hits harder, mixing grit with vulnerability.

Another standout line goes:

“Kahit ang sahod ay sa akinse pa, kung may’rong babayaran, ako na’ng bahala, sagot kita. Tanging hiling ko lang ay lambing sa pagsusumamo ko. Ako’y kakampi mo, pinapangako ko.”

It’s equal parts tough love and soft side—a reminder that at the end of the day, love is about partnership, patience, and choosing each other even through the bad days.

Because yes, sometimes we fight hard. But we always need to love harder.

Gloc-9 and Abaddon’s “Bonethugs” is now streaming on all major platforms.
