If you’ve never tried playing board games with your friends during your regular hangout sessions, I’d say you’re missing out on a whole lot of fun, laughter, and craziness that’ll test the bonds of your friendship.
And although board game cafes are few and far between nowadays, Gaming Library’s All aBOARD XP is one place that still stands strong to provide space for all kinds of gamers to discover something new or just play some old favorites!
My barkada and I recently visited the All aBOARD XP at Greenbelt 5, Makati which has a dedicated indoor section with plenty of tables and chairs to fit entire groups.
There are a ton of games to choose from its well-stocked shelves which vary from tabletop strategy games, card games, and party games. And yes, all of them are free to play for as long as you want!
We even managed to discover new games we easily fell in love with and ended up playing for hours, one of which was Wavelength—a social guessing game where teams try to read each other’s minds based on a prompt.
Other games we played were Red Flags and Herd Mentality, and had we had more energy to keep going, we would’ve also tried Codenames and Tapple!
As mentioned, it’s pretty much your energy level that dictates when you’ll stop playing because although the rates at All aBOARD XP go for ₱100 per hour, they have an all-day-play rate of ₱350 per head. I highly recommend going for that option if you’re playing with a huge group because, in our case, we hardly noticed time fly by. Before we knew it, we had been playing for 5 hours already! They also have a 5+1 promo that’s worth availing of for bigger savings.
It really was a day to remember for my barkada because it was a welcome break from the grueling work week. Even though we were super tired after and our collective social battery was nearly empty, we couldn’t stop talking about how much fun we had!
