FRINGE MANILA 2015: BLACK CANVAS’ KYEMESTRY tickles you this February
The bell rings. It’s time to learn more about KYEMESTRY (Sex, Gender, Love, Experiments)
KYEMESTRY! A word coined from “Kyeme” (a Pinoy gay linggo used to define almost anything. Oftentimes, it is also synonymous to nothing, ex. “kyeme lang”, “wala lang”) and “Chemistry” (a branch of physical science. It may also refer to the spark felt by two people). “Kyemestry” then can be used to describe the presence/absence of chemistry in a couple. But how does it really matter in a relationship?
This love month, swipe right, take risk and have fun with BLACK CANVAS (a multi-arts group of young collaborators) as it offers you KYEMESTRY as part of Fringe Manila, the world’s largest arts festival brought in Manila. Developed from theater exercises, KYEMESTRY explores the themes of sex, gender, love and experiments that we do in creating the right formula. It is a two-actor devised theater that tackles and tickles the idea of coming in or out of a relationship influenced by the presence or lack of chemistry, compatibility and hope.
It’s a date! Enjoy the live music score of Zye Estallo and let Gawad Urian Nominee’ Opaline Santos and former Actor’s Company Gino Ramirez revive your romantic vibes as they weave familiar stories through scenes, dance and poetry under the direction of Abner Delina Jr.
