Huge plumes of black smoke could be seen above the Mall of Asia earlier today, Sunday, 12 April 2015, when an abandoned ferry boat moored near the mall caught fire.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the blaze had reached first alarm by 2pm and a large number of fire engines from surrounding areas attended. Here is a short video of the incident:

The incident led to streets surrounding SMX being closed while fire fighters dealt with the blaze
