The terms “Filipinx” and “Pinxy” have now been added to the English online resource platform, Dictionary.com.
According to the platform, “Filipinx” [fil-uh–pee-neks, ‐pingks] is a gender-neutral term that can be used as a noun or adjective. The website says that it is “used in place of the masculine form Filipino or the feminine form Filipina.”
The platform also added the term “Pinxy” [pingk-see], the informal version of Filipinx. According to its definition, it is “used in place of the masculine form Pinoy or the feminine form Pinay.”
Aside from the terms “Filipinx” and “Pinxy,” Dictionary.com added three other terms that are related to the Philippines. In the recent update, the platform has also included the words Filipina, Pinoy, and Pinay.
