WATCH: FEU Wins UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2023 With Super Mario-Themed Routine

The FEU Cheering Squad emerged victorious in this year’s UAAP Cheerdance Competition (CDC), held over the weekend at the Mall of Asia Arena! The Season 86 UAAP CDC champions bested their competitors, including the Adamson Pep Squad, Ateneo Blue Eagles, DLSU Animo Squad, UE Pep Squad, UP Pep Squad, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe and their long-running rival, the National U Pep Squad.

Since the competition’s inaugural run in 1994, FEU now has secured its fourth championship. Watch FEU Cheering Squad’s full UAAP Season 86 CDC performance below:

With an almost flawless Super Mario-themed routine, they dethroned the Bulldogs for the second time in three seasons. The winning squad’s total score of 702.5 points denied NU an eighth title in 10 seasons, who settled for second place for their Elvis Presley-themed performance that garnered 697 points. Nevertheless, both teams incurred the least deductions, each receiving 5 points.

This outcome emphasized that the latter’s perfected routine would still fall slightly short of the Tamaraws’ exceptional tumbling passes, tosses, pyramids, and dance choreography. Any further mistakes from the champs would have made their trophy easier to steal as well, rendering the recently concluded competition even more heart-stopping, in addition to the stunts executed by each team.

Retaining its position as the third runner-up just as it did the previous season is the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, amassing 687 points for their BLACKPINK-inspired routine.
