You Don’t Have to Splurge to Enjoy the Viral Dubai Chocolate—Now in Donut Form

The viral Dubai Chocolate has been many things: a chocolate bar, a cake, an ice cream flavor, and a sweet drink, among many others. This time, you can now enjoy it in donut form!

On November 3, Krispy Kreme Philippines unveiled an exclusive collection that elevates and redefines everyone’s donut experience. This collaboration with Chef Nouel Catis—the original recipe innovator behind the Dubai Chocolate—brings a taste of Filipino craftsmanship and creativity to every bite.

For this collaboration, Catis ensured that his viral creation would be accessible to the whole country: “This is a way for me to travel to the Philippines through a donut.”

“I haven’t forgotten my roots because this is what I am and who I am, and [this is all about] bringing my heritage to the Philippines,” he added.

A sweet glimpse from the collection

The collaboration introduced three new variants inspired by Chef Nouel Catis’ Sna’ap Chocolate that capture the distinct flavors of Dubai, Japan, and the Philippines: the viral sensation Dubai Pistachio Kunafa, the indulgent Manila Ube Baklava, and the refreshing Fukuoka Strawberry Fields.

The Dubai Pistachio Kunafa is a luxurious dessert that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It is generously filled with a velvety pistachio cream, double-dipped in a pistachio kunafa chocolate coating, then again in rich Belgian milk chocolate, and finished with toasted kataifi for an added crunch. Each piece is topped with a dash of vibrant orange and Tiffany blue-colored chocolate, plus a pistachio-kataifi mix for that extra flair.

Meanwhile, the Manila Ube Baklava will immediately transport you back to your childhood. Filled with nutty ube baklava cream, it has that sweet-but-not-too-sweet flavor reminiscent of opening a jar of ube jam during the holidays. It is dipped in nutty ube baklava chocolate, coated in rich Belgian chocolate, sprinkled with toasted kataifi, drizzled with purple-colored chocolate, and finished with a cashew-kataifi mix.

Finally, the Fukuoka Strawberry Fields is sweet, creamy, and tangy—it feels like biting into a slice of strawberry cheesecake in a dainty café once you get a taste of the cheesecake cream and strawberry filling. It is double-dipped in strawberry fields coating, topped with a dash of pink-colored chocolate, and finished with spiced cookie crumbs.

While all three artisanal donuts are best enjoyed freshly served, I personally had them after being refrigerated for a few hours. And indeed, the coating hardened even more, making each bite even more satisfying. It’s reminiscent of biting into the famous Dubai Chocolate bar, with the same rich texture and indulgent crunch.

Each variant is crafted in Krispy Kreme’s signature beignet-shaped donut, offering a premium treat at P200 a piece.

Apart from the three new flavors, the collection also introduced the Dubai Pistachio Iced Mocha Latte. Now in a latte format, the drink is made with a mix of indulgent Belgian chocolate, rich espresso shot, pistachio sauce, condensed milk, and creamy milk, topped with sea salt kreme and pistachio-kataifi mix.

Although the drink is generally sweet, the nuttiness of the pistachio sauce and the crunchy, crispy texture of the pistachio-kataifi add depth of flavor and texture that perfectly balance the richness of the chocolate and coffee. It is available in 12oz at P270.

This partnership is more than just about bringing unique and bold Filipino flavors to a larger platform; it is also a way to tap into the senses of an ordinary consumer who wants to indulge in a donut and coffee. For Catis, this collection is also a way of marrying nostalgia and childhood flavors into an enjoyable treat without spending a fortune.

The Krispy Kreme x Chef Nouel Catis — Original Creations will be available starting November 7 until December 31, 2025, in select Krispy Kreme Philippines stores and delivery apps.
