Apparently, even Elon Musk and Grimes don’t agree with how to pronounce their baby’s unconventional name, X Æ A-12.
The couple made headlines this week for naming their newborn child with unpronounceable letters and numbers and the people of the Internet have been dying to know how exactly to say it.
On Instagram, Grimes — real name Claire Elise Boucher — seemed to have answered this question by explaining in a comment: “It’s just X, like the letter X. Then A.I. Like how you said the letter A then I.”
That would have been the end of the discussion if Elon hadn’t given a different answer.
“Just X, like the letter X,” the Tesla founder said during his guesting on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “And then the ‘Æ’ is pronounced ‘ash.’”
So…is it safe to assume that the name is open to interpretation, or do we need to give the couple some more time to discuss?
