Sometimes, you crave steak. But not just any kind of steak. You want something tender, juicy, succulent, and of premium quality. But if you’re like me and hail from the South, finding a restaurant that serves good steak can be a challenge. Sure, you can drive all the way up North and hunt for the carnivore’s dream meal in the plethora of restos and steak houses in Metro Manila, but is it worth traveling the distance?

Lucky for meat-lovers in the South, there’s a hotel cafe in Alabang that serves a deliciously tender rib eye sure to make your mouth water. Prime Café at the B Hotel Alabang serves a Johnny’s Steak and Grill Prime Rib Eye that is a steak lover’s dream come true. I had the chance to taste this delicious cut of meat during B Hotel’s Meet & Eat Foodie Event last July 18, 2019 – a celebration of good food and fun times – and it was amazing.

The steak was sliced to just the right thickness, my guess about a quarter to a half-inch thick, in order for diners to fully appreciate the tender meat. I had no trouble cutting up the slices I got from the carving station at all. The meat was soft and flavorful with just the right amount of fat to make it nice and juicy. It was definitely the highlight of all the dishes served at the buffet and one of the most succulently delicious steaks I had ever had. Pair it with mushroom gravy or shallot sauce, mashed or roasted potatoes, and you’re set to have a great steak dinner. If you’re looking for a great steak in the South, either for date night, a celebration, or just to treat yourself to some premium beef, Prime CafĂ©’s got you covered.

The cafĂ© also serves traditional Filipino dishes such as crispy Sizzling Sisig, char-grilled Chicken Inasal, and Pork Binagoongan along with Japanese maki rolls and other dishes. Their strawberry mousse, chocolate tarts, and fruit tarts are also something you don’t want to miss if you have a sweet tooth.

But let’s say that you’re not craving steak. Instead, you want to have a fun time with your friends and are in need of some good booze. The Happy Hour at Prime CafĂ© happens daily from 6:00PM to 10:00PM. For Php 550 nett per person, diners can have unlimited beers, mojitos, and sangrias. Unli drinks for four hours at just Php 550? Sounds great!
