Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano—or DonBelle, as their fans call them—are closer than ever in this new project with Direk Antoinette Jadaone that hit over 1 million views on Facebook in just four hours!
Closer You and I music video
The project? A super kilig music video remake of the iconic closeup song, Closer You and I. Anyone who watched TV in the 90s would remember the original music video, performed by Gino Padilla. It was a 90s pop culture moment, for sure!
And now thanks to this modern remake, Closer You and I will be part of yet again another generation’s pop culture memories.
Contributing to the magic of the new Closer You and I music video is, of course, the undeniable talent of singer-songwriter Adie, whose rendition of the song can send chills down the spine. You have to hear it yourself!

The music video launched with a watch party last January 13, 2024 at Trinoma Activity Center. The energy that day was electrifying (much like the chemistry between DonBelle, agree?). Fans lined up as early as mall opening to make sure they got good seats, and showed up equipped with DonBelle posters and merch to show full support to their idols.

Trinoma Activity Center filled with excited screams when Donny and Belle appeared on stage, and much more when the closeup Closer You and I music video finally played for the first time. The kilig from the audience was through the roof!

Like the fans, these couples were seen enjoying the event’s games and booths. The audience also got to know their love stories through a quick on-stage Q&A.

Some (very) lucky fans also got to join Donny, Belle, Adie, and Direk Antoinette on stage for some fun games that dared them to get closer. These fans got to do a Tiktok dance challenge alongside their idols, and a Blind Box challenge where they had to guess items hidden in boxes together.

To wrap up the event, Adie delivered a beautiful live performance of Closer You and I that made everybody in the audience swell with kilig and feels.
Of course, whether you were at the watch party or not, closeup made sure no one felt the FOMO! The whole event was livestreamed on closeup’s Facebook page for fans who couldn’t make it to Trinoma.

The closeup x DonBelle effect
The Closer You and I music video instantly trended online following its launch, hitting 1 million views on Facebook just four hours after it premiered. The music video now stands at over 8.1 million views on YouTube and Facebook as of writing.
Entertainment news website Rec.Create also posted a Closer You and I reaction video, with singles and couples talking about their own #DareToGetCloser experiences. Some of them told their cute kilig stories, and all we can say is…sana all.
