DOH Announces Total Number of Fully Vaccinated Individuals in the Philippines

The Department of Health (DOH) reportedly said that above 62 million Filipinos are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said on Saturday (February 19), “sa ngayon mula po noong nag-umpisa tayo, we have a total of 62.3 million individuals fully vaccinated already in the country.”

The Philippine government’s COVID-19 vaccination program started last year in March.

She explained, “That translates to about 69.8 percent coverage if we talk about the target of 77 million.”

As for the booster shots, Vergeire said that only about 9.6 million doses have been administered so far. “Ito po ay medyo mababa, kaya hinihikayat nga natin ang ating mga kababayan na mag-receive na sila ng booster, dahil kailangan po natin ito para mas tumaas ang antas ng proteksyon natin sa ating katawan,” she emphasized.
