When in Manila, a lot of people were ecstatic when they discovered that their favorite late night food market was back and better than ever. Distrito at Makati is the city’s signature late night food and lifestyle festival, opening again to bring about a selection of mouth-watering food and goodies, and allow people to enjoy the company of their family, friends and colleagues right after school and work. It was depressing news for many when Distrito closed last November 2011. However, for its comeback, Distrito at Makati makes the experience even more fun with new stalls, free Wi-Fi and live acoustic entertainment.
Last June 6, 2012 was the media launch of Distrito at Makati’s much-awaited return, together with Ayala Land Inc. as they both reflect and complement the unique and retail lifestyle of Makati North. Following the campaign of the Makati City government, “Make it Happen, Make it Makati” the exceptional lifestyle concept further invigorates the city by giving people a glimpse of what Makati’s growing retail vibe feels like.
It was definitely an exciting evening as I got overwhelmed with all the delicious food stalls in sight. My favorite would have to be Mochiko, which is frozen mochi filled with ice cream. In celebration of Philippine Independence month, they even have a limited edition flavor—chocnut! The mochi not only oozes with chocnut-flavored ice cream, but also with little chunks of the chocolate itself. Another favorite is Merry Moo, which sells unique flavored ice cream like Sea Salt Caramel and Earl Grey Tea. Other must-tries are Chicago’s Pizza, Chef Bab’s Sizzling Sisig, Edgy’s Foodtrip, and the different kinds of isaw of course!
