Demi Lovato Now Identifies as Non-Binary, Changes Pronouns to They/Them

Demi Lovato has made it known to fans and followers that they now identify as non-binary and will be using they/them pronouns moving forward.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” hitmaker announced this in a Tweet on Wednesday, May 19, and said that this decision took “a lot of healing [and] self-reflective work.”

“Today is a day I’m so happy to share more of my life with you all,” they said. “I’m still learning & coming into myself, & I don’t claim to be an expert or a spokesperson. Sharing this with you now opens another level of vulnerability for me.”

“I’m doing this for those out there that haven’t been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones. Please keep living in your truths & know I am sending so much love your way,” the singer added.

Demi also launched their new podcast, “4D with Demi Lovato,” along with the announcement.

Fellow singer Halsey also announced last March that she will be going by She/They pronouns when fans spotted them indicating so in their Instagram bio.
