David Licauco is now the first-ever scout ambassador of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), perfectly fitting his “Pambansang Ginoo” status!
On October 1, BSP announced on its social media pages that David will be taking on the lead as their first scout ambassador, who will be ready to “inspire and guide the next generations of scouts.”
“Meet the face of adventure, leadership, and change – Scout Ambassador David Licauco!” BSP captioned their post, along with a 58-second video where David acknowledged this huge milestone he has achieved and the honor it carries.
“Isang karangalan na maging bahagi ng organisyasyon na may malaking epekto sa mga kabataan… Proud ako bilang isang scout at inyong Scout Ambassador (It’s an honor to be a part of an organization that has a huge impact on the youth… I am proud to be a scout and your Scout Ambassador),” David said.
The “Pulang Araw” actor also reiterated that scouting is more than just an adventure; it is also a valuable experience where you can acquire life skills and help serve the community.
“Mula sa pagiging handa sa anumang hamon hanggang sa pagtulong ng panahon ng pangangailan, pinapakita sa atin ng scouting na kaya natin magdulot ng pagbabago (From being prepared for any challenges to offering help in times of need, scouting shows us that we can create change),” he continued.
Apart from being revealed as the face of BSP on its social media pages, David attended BSP’s kickoff ceremony at SM City Manila on October 1. The event celebrated Scouting Month and BSP’s 88th Charter Anniversary under the theme, โFuture-proofing Scouting for the Next Century and Beyond.”
BSP wrote, “As Scouting Month 2024 begins, Scouts are ready to step up as leaders in their communities, embodying the spirit of resilience, innovation and making promises to inspire young people to take on new challenges and create a positive impact.”
David has been consistent with using his platform into good use. Recently, the “Pulang Araw” actor and his on-screen partner Barbie Forteza were hailed as the newest ambassadors of Save the Children Philippines.
In 2020, he also joined other business owners in pledging the profit from his online business to help victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
David is a well-known actor and entrepreneur who rose to prominence for his roles in the hit historical drama “Maria Clara at Ibarra” and the action romance series “Maging Sino Ka Man.” He is currently starring in the drama war series “Pulang Araw” as Hiroshi Tanaka, the son of a Japanese immigrant.
