Get your tissue boxes ready because this is one online concert you don’t want to miss.
Johnoy Danao, Ebe Dancel, and Bullet Dumas, lovingly known as 3D, are set to serenade their fans tonight, March 28, to commemorate this year’s Earth Hour and to entertain everyone who’s stuck quarantined at home amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The online concert will take place at the Gabay Kalikhasan Facebook page at 8 PM, 30 minutes before the scheduled Earth Hour 2020.
“Bukas ay may Earth hour pa rin. Alam ko weird humingi ng additional request sa inyo sa mga panahong ito pero para lang sa may pribilehiyong gawin ito, pakipatay ang mga ilaw na hindi naman natin ginagamit,” Dumas said in a post announcing the gig.
(“Tomorrow, there is still Earth Hour. I know it’s weird to ask this additional request from you all at this time, but this is for those who have the privilege of doing this: please turn off your lights when you are not using them.”)
He then explained that the earth won’t “heal” if people go back to their same routine of wasting energy after the quarantine is lifted, despite the evident improvement of the air quality for the past weeks.
“[Kelangan] din natin magsave ng enerhiya kasi nagkakaubusan na ng manpower kung sa’n sa’ng industriya so kelangan natin maging maingat sa lahat ng gagawin natin sa mga susunod pang mga araw,” he added.
“[Kelangan] natin palitan ang lifestyle natin mismo kung gusto natin alagaan talaga ang mundo.”
(“We need to save energy because we are losing manpower in different industries, which is why we need to be more mindful of what we do in the next few days.
“We need to change our lifestyle in particular if we truly want to take care of our world.”)
