Cousins Benjamin Ryan and Gab Valenciano Team Up in a Song for Human Trafficking Survivors

Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Benjamin Pangilinan, better known as Benjamin Ryan, collaborated with his cousin and fellow artist Gab Valenciano to write and produce “Kung Sino Man”, a song featured in Called To Rescue PH’s (CTR PH) short film about the role of community in the rehabilitation of human trafficking survivors.

On his social media post, Benjamin Ryan described his newest track as “a conversation for anyone going through hard times”. He hopes to remind those who can relate that they are not alone.

The young artist also recounted that when his father Anthony Pangilinan, who is serving as the president of the anti-trafficking non-profit organization, asked him to take on the project, he immediately called his cousin Gab to work on it together. Benj’s aunt, singer-songwriter Felichi Pangilinan-Buizon and cousin, singer-songwriter Josh Buizon from Over October for helping in crafting the final Filipino lyrics of the song.

“Immediately after meeting up to brainstorm, you could already feel something special was about to happen,” he remarked on the same post.

Before the song’s full release, it was played in “GRADUATION”, the short film produced by CTR PH that stars Star Cinema actor Donny Pangilinan and Cinemalaya actress Nourijune Hooshmand. The four-minute film tells the story of a trafficking survivor and her supportive older brother in her journey toward healing.

“Kung Sino Man” is Benjamin Ryan’s second original song after the Christmas ballad “He Is Here”, which is part of his “Hear Christmas” EP from last year. The song is available on various platforms: https://bfan.link/kung-sino-man. All proceeds from streaming will go to CTR PH’s beneficiaries.
