It’s official: Liza Soberano is making her Hollywood debut with the film “Lisa Frankenstein,” confirming rumors that she will be part of the cast with “Riverdale” star Cole Sprouse and “Big Little Lies” actress Kathryn Newton.
Liza made the announcement on her Instagram page, sharing a screencap of an article by Deadline that reported her involvement in the upcoming horror comedy to be directed by Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late comedian Robin Williams.
“Ecstatic to be part of this film,” she said in the caption of her post.
News about her taking part in this film first broke out when Jessie Stafford of Los Angeles-based special events production company JSLA Events tagged the Filipino actress on her Instagram Stories wherein she reshared Kathryn’s picture of the “Lisa Frankenstein” movie slate. Jessie also tagged the US-based management label Transparent Arts, which James Reid is currently a part of. “Sending you and your team all the amazing energy to kill this film,” she wrote.
Fans also discovered that both Kathryn and Zelda are following Liza on Instagram.
Congratulations to her! We’ll be looking forward to watching this movie!
“Lisa Frankenstein” will be set in 1989 and will tell the story of “an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage.”
