“I respect the process and results of the IRS, and I have levied all related taxes to prevent further confusion. I will also do the remaining process diligently,” he continued. “If there were aspects I failed to carefully review, the responsibility lies entirely with me. I will not avoid accountability by saying ‘I didn’t know’ or that it was ‘someone else’s decision.’”

The actor also clarified that the oversights took place when he established his own corporation for his activities, and that the responsibility must fall on him, not on his family or the company.

“During a period of various changes and uncertainties in my career, I established a corporation to help manage my activities more stably. However, looking back, there were areas I did not examine thoroughly enough, and I believe the responsibility lies not with my family or company, but with me,” he added.

Following the controversy, the Korean star vowed to be more careful with his actions.

“I will examine my activities in the future with a careful and strict standard, so that the same problem does not repeat again,” he concluded. “I will try harder and try harder to become Cha Eun Woo who is responsible for my choices and actions until the end.”
