Black Widow Movie Poster Gives Us First Look At Taskmaster and Marvel’s Other Black Widow

Marvel Studios recently revealed our first look at the upcoming Black Widow movie. While there have actually been two different trailers shown to San Diego Comic-Con and D23 Expo audiences by now, these were not publicly released. Which means that this poster revealed by Andy Park, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development and Concept Artist, is the only official material we’ve been given for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next installment.

The poster features Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a the Black Widow, placed point blank in the center. She is flanked by David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz’ Melina, and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. The other women on the poster are speculated to be yet unidentified super spies who similarly went through the Red Room program. Behind Black Widow is an ominous look at villain, Taskmaster. Details on his casting have been kept under wraps, suggesting his identity to be a twist.

Black Widow is said to be set in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Details have been scarce but we can reasonably expect the movie to focus on a stand-off between Natasha and Taskmaster, a character able to mimic the fighting styles of heroes through his photographic memory. It will also be the debut of character Yelena Belova, the second modern-era individual to take up the Black Widow mantle in the Marvel comics.
