Lately, all we have been seeing on Instagram and YouTube are high end makeup that not everyone is willing to splurge on. I recently learned about a local indie makeup brand that not only offers budget friendly makeup, but also most of their products do not contain the talc which can cause some people to break out.
The first item I tried was the 8 Days Eyebrow Fixer (P375). I was not used to liquid eyebrow products, so it took some getting used to. The back of the package says that you should apply this at night. I had to skip Skin Care that night because it says that the oil in face creams could affect the product’s effect.
It was really dark when I first applied it, but it got a little lighter the next day. I suggest getting the lighter shade if you have really light hair.
I have really fair skin, so I have trouble finding light shades with yellow undertones. So I was really surprised when this BB Cushion (P950)Â matched my skin tone perfectly; it did not oxidize at all and it lasted the whole day.
TIP: Use a setting powder to make it last all day.
I don’t use mascara everyday (I prefer using false eyelashes), but Carmen’s Drama Addiction Water Resistant Mascara (P350) may have changed my mind. Not only did it last all day, it did not weigh my lashes down either. It held up the whole day and, yes, it IS waterproof—so effective, actually, that I had to use an oil based makeup remover just to take it off my lashes.
Lastly, I tried Carmen’s Sealed with a Kiss Top Coat (P350). I used this with a cheap lipstick to see if it will really work and it did! I used one of the Maybelline mattes with this. It remained matte and lasted all day! This is perfect for busy girls who have little time to retouch.
Overall, I love the fact that CarmenClaire’s wide array of products are not only great, but are also budget friendly.
