Bazzi Surprised Us All with an Appearance from Russ!

A lot of millennials and Gen Zers are madly in love with Andrew Bazzi, which was made pretty evident by the large crowd that showed up at The Island, BGC last July 26 for his first performance in Manila. The doors were open as early as 7PM, and we all (happily) waited at least five hours for him to come out and perform. While waiting, fans enjoyed drinks by the bar and the DJs continuously amped people up for Bazzi’s much-anticipated live performance.

The show started just before midnight struck and the crowd went completely nuts as Bazzi appeared in the shadows. He kicked off the performance with one of his beloved hits, “Paradise.” Bazzi then talked to us for a bit in-between songs and said, “It’s my first time in this beautiful city. This might be my favorite stop on the tour.”

The energy inside the venue was through the roof as we all danced, swayed, sang, and screamed along to some of Bazzi’s most popular songs, “Beautiful,” “Myself,” “3:15,” and “Why.” Everybody knew the words even to his lesser-known songs such as “Gone,” “Cartier,” “Honest,” and “Alone.”

He slowed things down a bit with acoustic covers of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and Usher’s “There Goes My Baby.” Still, the hype didn’t die down and we only grew more excited for what else he had prepared.

Sure enough, Bazzi’s team did not disappoint and the night got even better as Russ made a surprise guest appearance! He gave us a little snippet before his solo concert at the New Frontier Theater the following night and performed “Missin You Crazy”, as well as “What They Want.”

Fans were a tad disappointed that we didn’t get to hear his new song “I.F.L.Y.” live, but he did promise to return and said, “I really see myself coming back [to Manila].” Bazzi ended the show with one of his chart-toppers, “Mine.”
