“This project is an installation of a Big S statue and [an] abstract object side by side. After months of repeated discussion and correction, the project was completed with stainless steel and brass casting,” artist Chen Dao-Lee described the statue in an Instagram post.

Moreover, the artist shared that the installation is about 72 square meters, while the height of the body of the sculpture is around 330 centimeters.

The memorial statue was unveiled during a ceremony held on February 2, attended by her closest family members and her husband. Taiwanese media outlets, as well as online fan communities, also stated that fellow “Meteor Garden” co-stars Jerry Yan, Rainie Yang, and Vic Chou were also present at the unveiling.

Titled “Eternal Orbit of Hsi-Yuan,” the memorial statue is located in Chin Pao San Cemetery, Taiwan.

Barbie Hsu, who is most renowned for her stellar performance in the 2001 hit drama “Meteor Garden,” passed away at the age of 48 due to flu-triggered pneumonia.
