Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara to Join Forces in New Revenge Drama Series

Barbie Forteza and Kyline Alcantara are set to showcase their impeccable acting skills in the upcoming revenge drama series Beauty Empire.

In an exclusive report by 24 Oras, Barbie expressed their excitement over the new show.

“Coming from two grand period drama na Maria Clara at Ibarra at Pulang Araw, ngayon (now) we will step into beauty and fashion,” Barbie said enthusiastically. “I’m very, very excited. Together with my glam team, we’re all very excited.”

Meanwhile, Kyline admitted that she is nervous because the upcoming show would be her “biggest” project to date.

“This is my biggest [project] so far. I feel so honored at the same time… Isa si Barbie sa tinitingala kong artista talaga sa henerasyon ko (Barbie is truly one of the actresses I look up to in my generation),” Kyline shared.

Following the announcement, the Pulang Araw actress took to Instagram to share the good news.

“Beauty is such a strong force. She uses it to get the things that she wants. However, this time, she will use it to fight for what’s rightfully hers,” she captioned her post.

Moreover, the 22-year-old former child star shared with her fans and followers the new milestone she achieved on the same platform.

“I can finally share this project with all of you guys!” she wrote.

The upcoming series, which is directed by Mark Sicat Dela Cruz and written by Rona Co, takes a deep dive into the country’s highly competitive beauty industry. The ensemble cast also features Ruffa Gutierrez, who was hailed Miss World Second Princess in 1993, and Gloria Diaz, who was crowned Miss Universe 1969, will be joining the cast.

Additionally, other cast members include Sid Lucero, Sam Concepcion, Chai Fonacier, and South Korean actor and singer Choi Bo-Min. Bo-Min, who is a former member of Golden Child, previously starred in the hit Korean drama series 18 Again.

Meanwhile, Deadline reported that GMA Network and CreaZion Studios will collaborate on this project with popular streaming platform Viu.

“Beauty Empire” is set to premiere on VIU before making its debut on GMA Network.
