Backpacking Dumaguete: Siquijor in 2 Days

The first thing I did when I settled in Duma was call my friend living there and head up to the famous Apo Island. I was told that diving in Apo Island’s waters is really magical, with all the sea creatures living underneath and the rich marine biodiversity. I looked for an awesome dive shop for a fun dive in Apo Island and found Scuba Ventures, one of the pioneers when it comes to diving in Dumaguete.

Kuya John Ley assisted us before we took a dip underwater. We were really spoiled by them. Everything was set up and carried, and all we needed to do was put on our wetsuits.

What we saw underneath was beyond words. Here are some pictures to show you what it’s like:

They told me, “Apo” in Bisaya means Sea Turtle. Since Apo Island has so many sea turtles living in its waters, it makes sense to have named the island after it. If you wanna have a good scuba diving experience in Apo Island, I highly recommend Scuba Ventures. They really know their stuff and they’re beginner-friendly, so you have nothing to worry about!
