Have you ever noticed that your message suddenly turns into a MMS after a couple of characters when you’re using your smartphone? You’d be lucky if you get to more than seven (at least in my case). But the point is we love to talk. And having to type your words or cut your paragraphs can be so much of a hassle when you’re in the moment.
The great thing about the Asus Zenfone series is that it can get up to 13 thing-a-magic, before it turns into a MMS. Meaning, we have more space to talk freely and less hassle.

All smartphones have a menu, but not every smartphone has the Asus ZenUI. Basically, it’s designed to adapt to your lifestyle and do the work for you. It has two features that are simply perfect for the modern Filipino on-the-go-:the What’s Next and Do It Later. In brief, What’s Next and Do It Later allows you to prioritize your tasks with just a click of a button.
For example, if someone calls you while you’re writing your email, you can choose to make a reminder to call the person later with just a simple button tap. You can even send them a message at the same time with just a click of a button. How awesome is that!?
The Verdict on the Asus Zenfone Series
While Mr. Chua gave us the four things to consider before buying a smartphone, your When In Manila correspondent had her own features to consider first: photo quality and price. But these two things are better showcased through pictures.
According to Asus, all models are equipped with an exclusive ASUS camera technology called PixelMaster, which allows you to have professional looking photos every time. Another worth-to-note features available only on Zenfone 5 and 6 are the Low-Light Mode and Time Rewind.
The low-light mode enables quality photos in low-light (D-O-H) without the need for a flash. With the EIS or the Electronic Image Stabilizer, you get to have better quality images, as well, even when shooting a video.

The Zenfone 6, however, begged to differ.
Meanwhile, the Time Rewind feature is perfect for action photography. If you’re the type who loves taking moving or panning photos (photographers, you know what I’m talking about), the feature automatically takes multiple shots to increase your chances of capturing that perfect picture.
Now that’s a given, how about the price? Let’s just say it was pleasantly unexpected.
