“This January, past allegations towards Ean resurfaced with new information, which has significantly affected the band and the members. Let it be known that we strongly do not condone his behavior, and we urged him to take full responsibility for his actions,” the statement reads.

In 2017, the group reportedly faced sexual harassment accusations against one of the members on X (formerly Twitter). Following the accusations, they released a statement to take into consideration the privacy of offended parties.

“He made a statement and eventually decided to quit the band. We support this decision, and we sincerely hope for the healing of all parties involved,” it added.

Following this, the indie band announced they would no longer continue as a group: “As for the rest of the band members, we have decided not to continue as a band. This is the end for Ang Bandang Shirley. We thank you for all your support and for listening to our music throughout the years.”

Ang Bandang Shirley are best known for their songs “Nakauwi Na,” “Siberia,” and “Di Na Babalik,” among others.
