Acintya, which opened earlier this year, is an Indonesian Herbal Spa owned by Janet Dy and Daniel Dy. They started the business in hopes of bringing another variety of spa from Indonesia, and to share to Filipinos the Indonesian culture and beauty secrets.

The reception area of Acintya is well lit and cozy. The ambiance and scent will make you feel instantly relaxed.

What I loved most about Acintya is their interiors which is by Morfosis. The design inside the spa is the perfect combination of traditional and modern design that was actually featured in a magazine.

After choosing the service that you want, you will be asked to choose the kind of oil for your massage. Most spas have lemongrass and lavender so it’s actually nice to see that Acintya offers ylang ylang and ginger.

While waiting for our massage to start, we were offered tea, which was very sweet and soothing.

Acintya has three rooms that are connected, but there are dividers that can be used if you want more privacy or are getting a treatment without company.

I got the Hot Stone Massage which is perfect for those who has lots of “lamig” on their bodies. Prior to that, I got a body scrub or what they called Lulur. They actually have a package of a Herbal Lulur with Javanese Massage for only Php1300. It is just the perfect way to relax after a long day or to treat your loved ones for some pampering.

One unique service from Acintya is their Ratus Wangi V-Spa or A-Spa. This is actually a traditional treatment for the ladies in Indonesia and has a Filipino version as well. You sit on the chair with just a batik on and allow the steam do its magic down there. This spa treatment is said to be anti-bacterial, helps ladies to get regular menstrual cycles, and eliminates bad odor.

There are tons of Spas opening here and there but there are ones that has perfected the art of this therapeutic treatment.
