Ever since I have resolved to maintain a low-waste lifestyle, my wardrobe now consists of either thrifted or locally-made clothing. The newest addition to my collection? These beautiful abaca sandals from Love, Maria Manila!
Love, Maria Manila is a local footwear brand founded by Maan, who graduated with a degree in Psychology and spent four years working as a Human Resources officer before eventually switching careers to pursue business.
“It has been my dream to have a business I can call my own and gladly I had the chance to work on this dream and that is where LOVE, MARIA MANILA started,” Maan shared with When In Manila.
The idea of starting a brand focused on footwear came to her after consulting with friends and elders. It was fitting, she thought, knowing that her mother’s hometown Liliw, Laguna is known as the “Tsinelas Capital of the Philippines” and that she herself is a lover of sandals.
Her business started with reselling pairs of shoes from retail stores until she eventually partnered with the finest-skilled shoemakers to create her own designs.
Love, Maria Manila’s collection of simple yet elegant shoes suit any modern Filipina. It has a wide range of styles for you to choose from, including flats, wedges, and heels, and its most recent launch of Abaca footwear can’t be missed!
“Why Abaca? Simply because it is native to the Philippines. It is also aesthetically pleasing that can embellish the look of footwear and provides comfort on our feet. Why not love our own, right?” Maan said.
“Love, Maria Manila is born to make girls be more comfortable about themselves, see how beautiful they are, and remember how worthy all the women here are by simply having a good pair of footwear to use every day. Aside [from] them being locally handmade, women should try our products because their purchase supports a dream, not only mine but all the hardworking and finest-skilled shoemakers who are behind our brand,” she shared.
“We guarantee our customers that in each pair produced, they are surely full of love which makes them more beautiful.”
