In a livestream, Mikha recognized that the proposed Pax Silica initiative could create employment opportunities and advance artificial intelligence (AI) tech in the country, but questioned if these benefits would outweigh the potential costs, including the cost of living and environmental concerns.
mikha’s thoughts about Pax Silica: “—aangat nga tayo in terms of AI industry, pero is it worth it losing minerals that makes Philippines THE Philippines?”

“Given the current situation… will that actually help us? Is it worth it losing the minerals that make the Philippines the Philippines?” she said.
With the proposed Pax Silica initiative, which requires large-scale consumption of electricity and clean water, the BINI member also emphasized that these technological advancements could “accelerate” the problems in the country.
“Grabe, nakita niyo ba ‘yung tubig [sa ibang parts of US]? Ang dumi na. Imagine, that’s happening in a very big country, what more in our country?” she pondered.
Apart from raising important points, the singer also encouraged everyone to use their voices to talk about what’s happening in the country.
“So please, let’s use our voices to talk about what matters and what’s happening. If you see, kung tingnan ninyo ‘yung land na gagamitin nila para sa data center na’yon, it’s so big, and the amount of water they need [is] clean water,” she said.
She added: “Support the farmers, guys. We would not survive without them.”
Pax Silica is a United States-led initiative that aims to build global supply chains for AI infrastructure, semiconductors, and critical minerals.
