LOOK: K-pop Choreographer Lia Kim Puts Her Own Spin on BINI’s Hit Song, “Shagidi”

BINI’s hit song and special tour single “Shagidi” just landed in South Korea—at a world-class dance studio with a distinguished teacher, no less.

We can’t help but get up and groove to the dance-driven Pinoy pop (P-pop) track, which has been stuck in our heads since its release last year. “Shagidi” is fun, festive, fierce, and undeniably addictive, naturally capturing BINI’s show-stopping talent and energy. It’s no surprise that, just last month, the song got picked up by none other than Lia Kim, a professional dancer and established choreographer in the Korean pop (K-pop) industry.

On February 26, 2026, Lia taught a fun learner’s class to “Shagidi” at the esteemed 1Million Dance Studio (or 1Million, for short), which she also co-founded. She took a fresh approach to the song, interpreting its catchy lyrics through sharp, eye-catching moves that still tie in well with BINI’s original choreography.

This makes “Shagidi” the first-ever P-pop song featured in a 1Million dance class—another global achievement for BINI that definitely won’t go unrecognized. Here’s what this remarkable feat means for the “nation’s girl group,” as well as the future of P-pop in general:

Icons Recognize Icons

Before BINI became the unstoppable performers they are today, most of the members were K-pop fans first, just like countless other Filipinos. And if you’re even the slightest bit interested in K-pop, you might’ve already heard of Lia Kim once or twice in your life.

Lia has spent years working closely with major K-pop idols and agencies. She’s best known for her trendy choreography to chart-topping hits by TWICE, MAMAMOO, and Sunmi, among many others, earning tons of praise from K-pop stans worldwide.

Moreover, 1Million has evolved into a community of professional dancers and choreographers who’ve produced a wide variety of viral routines, classes, and collaborations with our favorite K-pop groups.

Needless to say, Lia’s choreography to “Shagidi” is one of the highest forms of recognition that BINI can receive as performers. Given Lia’s experience and status in the world of K-pop, it’s about time we bring P-pop to the same level of international prominence that it deserves.

Before Lia Kim lit up the 1Million Dance Studio with “Shagidi,” a few other talented Filipino artists had also showcased their skills at the renowned establishment.

Actress and dancer AC Bonifacio already took a few classes at 1Million, while SB19 dropped by in 2024 to perform “Ready,” their upbeat single with Apl.de.ap, alongside 1Million choreographer Redy Shin.

There’s only one thing left for BLOOMs to do now—and that’s manifest an in-person collaboration between Lia and BINI. The girls are already gearing up for Coachella this year. Who’s to say a special performance with THEE Lia Kim can’t be next on their bucket list?
