New Pokémon Attractions Are Coming to Universal Studios Japan

On January 27, 2026, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and The Pokémon Company announced plans to introduce new, immersive Pokémon experiences. The initiative is part of USJ’s ongoing efforts to expand its offerings and bring fan-favorite characters to life in fresh ways.

Universal Studios Japan shared that it aims to build on its previous Pokémon collaborations by developing new and enriching experiences. Following its launch in Japan, Universal Destinations & Experiences plans to roll out unique Pokémon experiences across its global parks. More details are expected to be announced at a later date.

Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO, Universal Destinations & Experiences, said: “Collaborating with imaginative and inventive storytellers fuels our ability to create and deliver attractions and experiences that push boundaries. The Pokémon Company is one of the most beloved interactive franchises in the world, and through our ongoing partnership, we look forward to bringing its vibrant world to life in new ways.”

Tak Murayama, executive vice president and general manager, USJ LLC, shared: “Since October 2021, Universal Studios Japan has been offering Pokémon experiences such as parades and shows to guests from around the world. A new global project will begin at Universal Studios Japan, introducing innovative experiences in collaboration with Pokémon—a franchise born in Japan and loved worldwide. We are proud to launch this journey from Japan and create moments filled with surprise and excitement.”

Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO, The Pokémon Company, added: “Since announcing our long-term alliance in 2021, we have worked with Universal Studios Japan to create Pokémon experiences such as the NO LIMIT! Parade and Halloween shows. As Pokémon marks its 30th anniversary this year, we are excited to launch this new project at such a meaningful milestone. Our mission is to enrich both the real and virtual worlds through Pokémon, and this project aims to create theme park entertainment that surprises and delights fans around the world.”
