Currently showing in theaters nationwide, Quezon stars Jericho Rosales as President Manuel L. Quezon, with direction by acclaimed filmmaker Jerrold Tarog. The film explores Quezon’s life and leadership during the American occupation, years after the Philippine Revolution.
In an advisory released on October 14, 2025, DepEd urged junior and senior high school learners and teachers to “participate and integrate the film into classroom discussions.” The department highlighted how Quezon can help “strengthen historical awareness, civic education, and appreciation of the arts” by making history both relevant and accessible.
According to DepEd, the film not only paints a compelling portrait of one of the country’s most influential leaders but also offers “timely reflections on governance, leadership, and national identity.”
Quezon marks the highly anticipated conclusion of TBA Studios’ cinematic Bayaniverse trilogy—a collection of films rooted in Philippine history. Following its nationwide release on October 15, 2025, the movie quickly became the number one film in the Philippines, showing in over 300 cinemas.
To make the experience more accessible, students and teachers can enjoy a special ticket price of only ₱250. Just present a valid school ID at select major cinemas nationwide. Availability may vary, so it’s best to check with participating theaters before visiting.
If you’re looking for a film that combines powerful storytelling, stellar performances, and lessons that hit close to home, Quezon is a must-watch.
