From lifting the nation’s spirit to shaping the next generation of Filipino athletes—Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is stepping into a brand new role.

Recently, Hidilyn met with the members of the College Executive Board of the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics (UP-CHK) as she prepares for her upcoming teaching engagement. Starting January 2026, she’ll officially begin her journey as a lecturer at UP CHK.
When asked why she decided to teach, Hidilyn shared a humble yet inspiring answer: “Because I want to keep learning, and I hope my students will learn from me, too.”

Designing a curriculum to promote and spread weightlifting has always been one of Hidilyn’s dreams. As she transitions from athlete to educator, she admits to feeling both excited and nervous, but more than ready to give her best.
“I love weightlifting, and I’ll keep doing my best to grow and share the sport I love,” she said in an Instagram post.
With her dedication, resilience, and passion for uplifting others, Hidilyn continues to prove that her strength goes far beyond the platform.
