On October 22, the MAMA Awards confirmed its third wave of performers, which includes G-Dragon.
G-Dragon will take the stage at the Kyocera Dome in Japan on November 23. Alongside the K-pop powerhouse, (G)-IDLE, BIBI, BOYNEXTDOOR, and PLAVE were also announced as part of the third wave of performers for the prestigious awards show.
This marks the K-pop star’s first appearance at the MAMA Awards in nine years, following his last performance in 2015 with his fellow BIGBANG members.
Prior to the announcement, the popular South Korean rapper shared a mysterious black image on his social media account with the caption: “beyond-black.” This cryptic post sparked speculations about his much-anticipated comeback.
G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, rose to international stardom as the leader of the South Korean boy group BIGBANG. Hailed as the “King of K-pop” for his contributions to the Korean music scene, the acclaimed K-pop star is also known as a style icon.
The MAMA Awards will take place from November 21 to 23.
