Nikki Valdez happily showed off her newly adopted dog named Haru! On social media, she shared a heartwarming story about him, along with adorable photos.
The actress revealed that it has been a week since her family adopted Haru.
“Happy Weeksary to us, my Haru boy!!!! HARU means SPRING. It’s a gender-neutral baby name of Japanese origin and is primarily used for babies born during the most fruitful time of the year,” she wrote.
Valdez adopted Haru from Pawssion Project animal shelter, which she visited with her Pira-Pirasong Paraiso co-stars Charlie Dizon, Alexa Ilacad, Elisse Joson, Loisa Andalio, and Ronnie Alonte on November 11. She said she instantly fell in love with his puppy eyes, prompting her to see him during their visit.
The celebrity mom continued, “He is a rescue from the pound and really hesitant to come near me- probably because of a sad or traumatic experience. Though as soon as we left the shelter, he right away warmed up to me, my husband and daughter, cozied up in his warm bed and finished the snacks we offered him on the way home.”
Nikki emphasized that even her mother excitedly welcomed Haru, while her other dog, Trevor, easily got along with him.
“Thank you Haru boy for one week of pure love and happiness and for giving me and my family the chance to help in our own little way. We promise to be committed in taking care of you and not failing you in your furever home. We love you, Haru!!!!” she concluded.

In her previous post, she mentioned being hesitant at first to get another dog after the passing of her senior dog and Trevor’s sibling, Travis. But as an animal lover, she decided to bring Haru home as she couldn’t resist leaving him at the pound.
