In case you missed it, ABS-CBN dropped the official trailer for “Darna: The TV Series” on July 7.
Last May, the network unveiled a 45-second teaser where we saw a glimpse of the much-awaited series starring Jane De Leon. It introduced Iza Calzado as Leonor, training her daughter Narda (Jane) to become a superhero; Joshua Garcia as Brian, a police officer and Narda’s love interest; and Janella Salvador as Regina, who will eventually become Darna’s archnemesis, Valentina. It also served a thrilling preview of the new Darna’s iconic lines, “Ding, ang bato!” and “Darna!”
In the same week, De Leon posted a photo wearing the Filipino superhero’s signature headgear which added to the hype.
Nearing its premiere this August, we finally see more of Mars Ravelo’s Darna series in the full trailer!
It kicks off with action-packed scenes as the hero trains with her mom and battles to save Brian. As evil entities arrive, Iza Calzado is seen wearing the Darna costume as she confronts them. Her character Leonor then turns over the white stone to Narda, who doubts if she would ever be able to fill her mother’s shoes.
The buildup rises as Narda contemplated during an exhibit of intensified adrenaline-fueled stunts and leveled-up computer-generated imagery and visual effects in the direction of Chito S. Roño.
Finally, she accepts her fate as the savior of the Earth, teasing us with Jane De Leon’s Darna transformation.
