The Department of Education (DepEd) just confirmed the suspension of limited face-to-face classes in Metro Manila. This is amid the area’s shift back to a COVID-19 Alert Level 3 from January 3 to 15.
DepEd wrote:
Consistent with the recent memorandum of the IATF for the Alert Level 3 protocols and considering the notable increase of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR), DepEd, in consultation with DOH, confirms that face to face classes for pilot schools in NCR are suspended until the alert level reverts to Level 2.
Aside from face-to-face classes, contact sports (except those conducted under a bubble-type setup), kids’ playgrounds, amusement parks, clubs, and concerts are not allowed during Alert level 3.
In the meantime, face-to-face classes in pilot schools in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2 shall reportedly continue until DepEd finalizes its report on the pilot face-to-face classes.
