Pinoy rock band Callalily, who brought us heartwrenching, headbanging love songs “Stars,” “Magbalik,” and “Ex,” just celebrated their 15th anniversary of making original Filipino music.
To commemorate the milestone, lead singer Kean Cipriano posted a sentimental video on his Instagram which featured highlights and clips from one of their live performances in Sorsogon—all the sights, sounds, and people they’ve seen, heard, and met—while he spoke about why his band continues to do with they do.

“When we spread music, we spread love. It’s the language that we speak. It’s how we connect to people,” he said in the clip. “So we make sure na (that) every time we play, we give it our all. Gusto ko talaga ‘pag nakakarelate sila sa (I really like it when they relate to a) song […] feeling ko mas nakakatulong kami (I feel we are able to help them) emotionally.”
“To see them cry, dance, jump, shout, it’s the best thing in the world. It’s what Callalily’s all about,” he added.
Together with the clip was an open letter Kean wrote to his bandmates and all the fans who’ve supported them all these years. “15 years of music, 15 years of just playing music. 15 years of playing the same damn songs every single night and still feels as if first time mo tinutugtog (as if it’s the first time you’re playing it),” he began.

“15 years of rock and roll. 15 years of [Callalily]. Masaya ako na may naihahatid kaming musika sa mundo. Salamat sa mga naging parte ng biyahe. (I’m happy that we have shared our music with the world. Thank you for being part of the journey.) It’s been a great ride.. cheers to more years!” he continued.
And although they have not made any new music for years, he took away any doubt in their fans’ minds as he declared: “Tuloy tuloy lang tayo. (We’re still continuing this.) [Callalily] is here to stay.”
