Flan de Queso: The Perfect Cross Between Leche Flan and Cheesecake

I looooove leche flan and I looooove cheesecake… so imagine my utter joy when I discovered… Flan de Queso, the perfect cross between two of my favorite desserts! I found it at NonproCook.

NonproCook started during the enhanced community quarantine. Jen Ballescas, the brilliant mind behind this delicious creation, was working at her husband’s company when things took a turn because of the ECQ. Since she wasn’t going to the office, she found joy in taking pictures of the food that she made for her husband.

At first, Jen only posted these photos on her personal Instagram account, but then she decided to create a separate account for her food photos. She decided on the name ‘NonproCook’ since cooking isn’t her profession, but her passion.

I find it funny that Jen didn’t actually want to venture into this business in the first place. She just wanted to take pictures for fun when her husband’s friends started asking if they could order some. I also find it interesting that Jen’s first foray into the business started with mechado and adobo because her Flan de Queso is THE BOMB.

Jen shares that her mom used to make leche flan with cheese and since she hasn’t tasted or seen anything similar in the market, she decided to sell it – with her mom’s permission, of course. After having a free taste test in their village, Flan de Queso was officially born. It is currently their bestseller and I am not surprised at all.

I dug in the moment it arrived and it was heaven in my mouth! If leche flan and cheesecake ever decided to have a baby, this would be it. …And it would be eaten in mere minutes. :p

Since I am trying to go on a diet, though, I did end up with leftovers. And I’m actually glad I did because the Flan de Queso tastes even better after being in the refrigerator for a while!

They even have a lemony version if you want it with a bit of a twist. I shared the Lemony Flan de Queso with a friend of mine, and he loved it just as much!

You can order Flan de Queso for Php120 per slice, Php650 for a regular whole, or Php750 for a large whole.

NonproCook also recently released lumpia with a twist: Cheesy Chicken Lumpia! They sell this frozen and they come with instructions on how to cook them when you’re ready.

NonproCook offers free delivery within Parañaque, but people outside of the area can also get their food delivered via Grab or Lalamove. So, what are you waiting for? Pre-order yours now and look forward to some cheesy leche flan goodness. I promise you won’t regret it!
