Free COVID-19 Mass Testing in Makati Being Planned

According to Mayor Abby Binay, the Makati government is planning to conduct free mass testing for people who has symptoms and those who are working in the frontlines even if they appear asymptomatic.

“You have to remember, the priority of the DOH (Department of Health) are those who have symptoms of the virus. So we will be conducting our own testing. We will test our frontliners. We need to make sure that they are not sick,” Mayor Binay said.

The City Government will sign an agreement with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to conduct the testing. They are looking into PCR (Polymerase Chain reaction) for the testing and will partner with two laboratories to conduct at least 2000 tests by end of April.
